The curtain has been pulled back on iPhone 4, and the list of new features is massive: There's multitasking (finally!), a refreshed interface, and literally hundreds of other changes, all coming this summer. Here's the full rundown.

The new OS will ship in June (Fall for iPad, and a developer preview is available today, so we can expect to have plenty of apps updated and ready for launch.

New Features: Multitasking, App Folders and More

• Multitasking: It's here, finally. It's handled with a simple task switcher: double click your home button, and you get a list of running apps. Select, switch, done. Multitasking is limited to audio streaming, VoIP and GPS apps, as well as a few other allowances: they can finish specific, important tasks in the background, for example. As far as non-music/nav/VoIP apps, those can be suspended in the background, but not left running. (See below.)

• Fast app switching: With iPhone 4's multitasking, most apps aren't actually running in the background—just certain functions of the app, like an audio stream or a GPS lock. But! All apps can now be frozen, in full, so that when you reopen them, they're restored to exactly the state they were in when they were closed.

• Local notifications: Notifications can be sent between apps on the phone, not just from remote servers. In other words, if something important happens in an app you've opened and moved away from, a notification will pop up in whatever app you're using at the time, effectively saying "switch back to me!" It's a fairly clever way to keep track of multiple apps without the need for a start bar or dock-type interface. From Apple's dev guidelines:

The advantage of local notifications is that they are independent of your application. Once a notification is scheduled, the system manages the delivery of it. Your application does not even have to be running when the notification is delivered.

Apple's official line:

iPhone OS 4's new multitasking offers users a new way to quickly move between apps, and provides developers seven new multitasking services to easily add multitasking features to their apps. These services include background audio, so apps like Pandora can play music in the background, and VoIP, so VoIP apps can receive a VoIP call even when the iPhone is asleep or the user is running other apps. iPhone OS 4 provides multitasking to third party apps while preserving battery life and foreground app performance, which has until now proved elusive on mobile devices.

And some more technical details, again from Apple's developer guidelines:

An application can request a finite amount of time to complete some important task. An application can declare itself as supporting specific services that require regular background execution time. An application can use local notifications to generate user alerts at designated times, whether or not the application is running.

• App folders: Now you can sort your apps into folders! That's homescreen clutter solved, just like that. Apple's description:

Folders help users better organize and quickly access their apps. Simply drag one app icon onto another, and a new folder is automatically created. The folder is automatically given a name based on the App Store category of that app, such as "Games," which the user can easily rename. Using folders, users can now organize and access over 2,000 apps on their iPhone.

• A new Mail app: Unified inboxes, multiple Exchange accounts, fast inbox switching, threaded messages: These new features are actually a huge deal, since the iPhone's mail client has barely changed since 2007, and Apple doesn't allow alternative mail apps. Apple's pitch:

iPhone OS 4 delivers the best mail experience on a mobile phone with its new Unified Inbox, allowing users to see messages from all their email accounts displayed together in a single inbox. With just a few taps, users can quickly switch between inboxes to see messages from any single account.

• iBooks: Oh hey, that iBooks ebook reader app and accompanying ebook store we first met on the iPad has ambled on down to the iPhone. Nice, since you can now take your books with you wherever you go, as oppose to wherever you go with your iPad.

• Custom backgrounds: Jailbreakers have them. Hell, the iPad has them. Now you can choose a persistent background for your iPhone—and not just for the lockscreen.

• Game Center: Apple's going to roll out a centralized gaming service—a multiplayer network like PSN or Xbox Live—to help connect games to one another, by the end on the year. There are 3rd-party services that already do this, like OpenFeint. They will probably die.

• iAd advertising: It looks like Apple's finally making use of Quattro, that mobile ad company it gobbled up a few months ago, by rolling out its own advertising platform, a turnkey ad plugin for app developers called iAd. The theory here is that instead of relying on links to external websites, which pull users out of apps whenever they tap on an ad, developers can use Apple's new tools to keep people in the app while still showing them advertising—sort of like popover browser windows. You can watch videos, play games, and even buy apps from within these ads. This is in the iPhone OS 4 developer tools, but it's not explicitly a part of OS 4, so you won't see apps with iAds until later this year.

• 5x digital zoom: Could this hint at a higher quality camera in the next hardware? 3.2 megapixels seems a bit low for 5x digital zoom.

• Bluetooth keyboards: Another carryover from the iPad, Bluetooth keyboard support will finally come to iPhone 4.

• A bevy of other new developer features, including 1500 new APIs to play with.

Increase Adsense eCPM

eCPM stands for “Effective Cost Per Thousand of Impression”. The eCPM can be computed by dividing the Adsense Revenue by the Adsense Impression and the quotient will be multiplied by 1000. The process can be presented by the mathematical formula:

eCPM = (AR / AI) * 1000

Where: AR stands for Adsense Revenue and AI stands for Adsense Impression.

In other words, the Adsense eCPM is totally dependent to the Adsense CTR and CPC.

By just considering the formula given above, we could already say that the higher in Revenue and lower impression will result to higheCPM. And on the other hand, the lower the Revenue and higher impression will result to low eCPM.
But, let’s say that the impression is constant in two different periods but the Revenue varies from one period to the next period.
For example, the generated impression is 1000 in day-1 and in day-2; and the revenue is $10 in day-1 and $5 in day-2.
By substituting the data to the formula given above, the result will be $10 eCPM in day-1 and $5 eCPM in day-2.
The result simply tells us that if you could not increase the number of impression of the Adsense ads, you need to increase the eCPM of Adsense by simply working for the increase of the Adsense Revenue. However, in a constant impression, Adsense Revenue greatly depends on the CTR and CPC of Adsense.

How to increase the Adsense eCPM?

In other words for you to increase the eCPM what you need to do is:

1. Increase the CPC of the Adsense ads. Just imagine if a click in your Adsense is worth $10, which means that in just 1 click in your Adsense you already earn $10. Now, what if there are 3 clicks generated in your Adsense. Well.. That’s really very interesting especially if your Adsense CPC is as high as $10 per click because in just 3 clicks you already have earned $30.

2. Increase the Adsense CTR. Again, imagine what would be your income if your Adsense have CPC of $10 per click but no one click your Adsense ads. So, you earn nothing even if your Adsense has better CPC.That simply tells you that the Adsense CTR really affects your Adsense income. The more your Adsense receive clicks, the more you earn from Adsense.

3. Avoid being Smart Priced by Google Adsense. Smart Pricing is another thing that makes your Adsense earning to drop. Google Adsense implement Smart Pricing to protect its advertisers and help them increase the ROI.

4. Remove ads from pages with very low eCPM (not necessarily CTR though)

5. limit the number of adblocks per page.

6. make the content on the pages as easy to target as possible with all the usual “spider food” SEO stuff, page titles, page names, descriptive original content,etc.

7. try a 336×250, above the fold, centered in the content, or a leaderboard

Blogger finally released the pages feature just like in Wordpress blogs. You can use these pages for about me, contact me etc. The blogger pages are more or less like the blogger posts. But these pages wont appear in the blog archives and the blog feeds.

1. Login to Draft.Blogger.Com
2. In the posting Tab you will find an Edit Pages option

3.Click on the New Page button and you will get a new page editor(same as the post editor that you normally use)

4.You can make the page, in the same way as you create a post.If you want to enable commenting on the page, then you can do so fromthe post options

5. When you hit the Save And Publish Page button, you will be asked if you would like to add the Page Gadgets onto your blog

You can add the page gadget on the sidebar or as Top navigation Tabs.These widgets may not properly sync with your blog template.So i would advise you to choose the No Gadget option and add the links manually to your blogger template. You can obtain the links to the newly created pages from the Edit Pages Tab.
If you opt to add any of Pages gadget, then you will get an easy interface to add the page links to your blog. (now available on draft.blogger.com only) Here is what the Gadget options will look like

Track your Blogger Statistics With Google

Google owns Blogger (Blogspot), everyone knows that. But we all Blogger bloggers miss the statistics module that for example Wordpress.com blogs already have. Since they’re in the same family I think it would be a good idea to implement Google Analytics with Blogger. But you never know, it might show in the future.

However, if you want to track your visitors on your Blogger/Blogspot without putting up a linkback-image to the tracking-service on your blog (that’s so 90’s!) then Google Analytics is the tool for you.

How to set it up

Go to Google Analytics to sign up or log in.
When logged in, choose to create a new account (click on the menu next to “My Analytics Accounts” at the top right of the page and choose “Create a new account”) and follow the steps. When you get to “Tracking Code“, open up a new window and log in to your Blogger account.
Go to your blog’s settings and choose “Layout” and then “Page Elements“
Have a look at the footer (it has to be the footer!) of the design and choose to “Add a Gadget“.
Find the “HTML/JavaScript” element click on it.
Now a new page appears called “Configure HTML/JavaScript”. Don’t write anything in the title column. Copy and paste the code from Google Analytics (only copy and past the “New Tracking Code”) in the content box and “Save“.
Now your page element has been added. Click on “Save” on the “Page Elements Page” as well.
Then continue the steps on Google Analytics and you’re done!

From dashboard: – Settings – Layout – Edit HTML
Scroll down to the very bottom in the box and locate the tag.
Copy and past the Google Analytics code right BEFORE the tag and then save.

To check your Blogger statistics, you just have to click on your account on the first page of Google Analytics. If it says “Tracking Unknown” in the status column, even after 24h (you have to wait a day until it starts tracking), you have done something wrong.
Also, you might want to get your blog “Google verified” so your blog gets crawled – your chances to show up on search results increases.

If you have a blog with the top level domain, like .com, .net, .info ( without suffix blogspot) will certainly make your blogs look more elite and classy, and also will make your blog name would be easier to remember.

The first thing you'll need to do is to choose a domain name, like example.com and register it. You can register domain names from any of a number of different registrars, and you can use .com, .org, .net or any other valid addresses. Remember: you only need to get the domain name; you don't have to pay extra for hosting service.

DNS SETTING (DOMAIN NAME SERVER)

After you bought the domain, you must set the DNS, you can use free DNS service at DNSPARK.NET, this free service is recommended by google.

This is tutorial to use the services of dnspark :

1. If you do not already have an account at dnspark you can register at https://www.dnspark.net/register.

2. If you already register , then logon to the site.

3. Select the "DNS Hosting" (on the left). Then select "Add Domains"

4. Check list the box of "DNS Hosting - Free" and Fill in the domain name you've bought in the "Enter new domain" (without the www).

5. Then Click the "Add Now".

6. If success, then your domain name will appear in the "Domain List" (bottom left corner).

7. Click the your domain to make further arrangements.

8. In the Dropdown "Type" select "CNAME".

9. In the column "Alias Name" insert www (actually it can fill anything, but for the primary domain should be filled "www").

10. Then to fill ghs.google.com for destination name (blogspot).

11. If you've done click the "Update All".

DNS settings process is complete.

For those who already have a "Managed DNS" itself in its domain, the settings like this way:

- Go to "Managed DNS" Choose "CNAME Records"

- Then click the "Add CNAME Records"

- For the "Host Name" is filled with "www"

- For the column "Value" select and fill the bottom with "ghs.google.com"

- Then Click the "Add record"

Done.

NS SETTING (NAME SERVER)

For those who already have "Mange DNS Service" then this steps is not necessary. But if you use the services of dnspark.net DNS Manager, you must change the "Name Server" on your domain manager .

Logon on your domain manager , then fill the Name Server (the location depends on your manager's domain) . Fill in the following server name into the column "Name Server1, Server2 Name, Name Server3, Server4 Name, Name Server5" then click the "Submit".

My Bad Luck at The Beginning of The Year

Beginning of the year should be a good start for everyone, but instead I get a lot of bad luck in my online business. When other blogger earlier this year that get a lot of blessings to get an increase pagerank, but I just have loose my pagerank in my few blog and web. There reason is maybe google kick out my blog because of too much paid to review programs.

In addition, another misfortune and the most hurt for my self was some of my web banned by 000webhost. Without clearly information, Just suddenly my webs they banned at once. When the web was a source of my income on online business, really sadness. They think I have violated their TOS, which I was not doing it.

But this bad start, it will not dampen my spirit, I will keep fighting even if i have to start from scratch. Whatever it was, all for me is learning and must be taken lesson. From now on I have to work harder and be more consistent again for the hope that I want to achieve.. LOL

Putting Adsense code is the one way to increase your earning from your blog. But, how to show your adsense Ads on the single post page not in the home page. Maybe you knows that “Show Ads Between Post” also can show the adsense Ads, but this way will shown the ads both, in the home page and in the post page. If you want to show adsense ads only in the post page, you have todo a little modification in your template. Watch this steps.

1. Login To Your Blogger Dashboard. Choose Layout and Edit HTML, don’t forget to checklist “Expand Widget Templates”.

This is my second post talking about blogger optimization, after I write about google webmaster tools for optimization, in this post I write about how to Change Blog Title To Post Title For Optimize Your Blog Post. Why blogger need to change their title blog from their posting? The answer is to optimize your post title to search engine and make search result become more user friendly from the search engine.

Here the steps :

1. Log into the Blogger dashboard and select your blog. Choose Layout and edit HTML.

2. By Using CTRL + F, find the following piece of HTML code:

3. In most templates it’s around 5-10 lines from the top. Replace that code with the following code:

Blogs are ranked differently by search engines compared to other sites. Posting frequency, friendly URL paths, descriptive keywords, RSS feeds, external links, internal links, and how long your blog has been in existence are all factors that affect your blog ranks in search results.

Lot of way to optimizing your Blog to Search engine, one of way is use Google Webmaster Tool for Optimizing. Google webmaster tools has a Dashboard where you can manage multiple websites. Once you've added a site, you can upload a sitemap, run diagnostics, and even add a Webmaster tools gadget to your iGoogle home page. Before you can add a sitemap, you will need to verify your blog address. Then, we will add a general sitemap that will work for Blogger users who have redirected their blog feed using FeedBurner.

Verifying Your Blogger Blog Using a Meta tag

Adding a Meta tag to your template from Google Webmaster tools will indicate you have admin access and rights to the blog.

1. Log into the Google webmaster tools site (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/). Type the URL of your blog to add it to the tools, if you haven't already. Click the verify link.

2. Now, select Add a meta tag from the Choose verification method drop-down list. Google will generate a special Meta tag. Select all the text and then copy it.

3. Open your blog in a new window. Navigate to Template tab | Edit Html. Paste the Meta tag just below the tag of your template. It should look similar to the code snippet below:

When you added the Meta tag to the head section of your blog template, Google webmaster tools was able to track the blog template and verify whether you had admin access to the blog. The addition of the Meta tag was proof to Google webmaster tools that you were the owner or an administrator of the blog, and therefore had the authority to add that URL to Google webmaster tools. Now that the blog URL is verified, we are ready to add a sitemap.

Adding a Sitemap using Google Webmaster Tools

Blogger users can add sitemaps of their blogs to Google Webmaster tools. Adding a sitemap makes it easier for search engines to index your blog.

You do not have to do any coding or understand sitemap formats to upload a sitemap of your blog to Google webmaster tools. We will leverage the existing atom or RSS feed of our blog to provide a sitemap.

Adding a sitemap to webmaster tools will increase the chances of all your blog posts being indexed by Google's web spiders.

1. Log into the Google webmaster tools site. Enter your blogspot URL, for example http://akhmaddharma.blogspot.com, and click the Add Site button, if the blog has not yet been added. If this is the first site you have added, you will need to verify the site instead. Click the Add link under the Sitemap column to add a sitemap to your blog.

2. Choose submit Sitemap Button .

3. Enter atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100 into the URL box. Click the Add General Web Sitemap button.

4. A success message will appear. The new sitemap information will be listed in a table, including the number of pages on the site that have been indexed, and the last time it was crawled. It may take a little while for the sitemap to be processed.

When we added a sitemap for the blog using the General sitemap format, we were able to add parameters to the URL of the blog. Usually, only the last twenty-five feeds are listed in a feed-based sitemap. Specifying the maximum post results gave the Google spiders additional content to examine. We can currently set the maximum posts to 500. This number may change in the future. If your main concern is having Google index your freshest content, you can create a sitemap for a feed using rss. xml?orderby=updated. To create a sitemap for a Blogger blog that does not have the feed redirect feature activated, type atom.xml in the Sitemap URL field.

We have added a sitemap to help search engines find and crawl our blog. How it is being indexed can be analyzed using Crawl stats under the Statistics menu at Google webmaster tools.

We can see the PageRank of the blog in more detail on the Crawl stats page, as shown in the preceding screenshot. The possible PageRank ranges from not yet assigned to High. It is possible for individual pages to have higher rankings, depending on popularity. In the future, we will see darker blue bars in the Distribution column for multiple PageRank levels.

How To Change Your Favicon Blogger

Already know favicon ? maybe most of you know this thing, if not Favicon is a small icon that appears in the left corner of the address bar and tab-left corner. By default blogger / blogspot base show with symbol B with orange background. Then, how to change it, with your own favicon?

First you must have a picture/logo to be use as a favicon. For those of you who master the graphics software, you can create a logo with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, or any graphics software that you control, Then export to gif, png or jpg. But, if not, you can make favicon from your own picture then upload it to http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/.

Upload your picture or logo.

Download it to your computer.

Then Extract the .zip file, and upload it to free hosting service like Google Pages or Photobucket. Keep the link of your file after you upload.

Now, goto your blogger Dashboard, Choose Layout - Edit HTML

Then Seacrh this line code :

Remove Post Count From Label Widget

Nowaday Facebook become the most popular social networking site. For blogger facebook can be place to promote and make a traffic for your blog. In this tutorial I will explain step by step how to creating Facebook Fans Page to Connect your Fans to your blog.

Read carefully.

1.Go to the Create Fan Page Link on Fabebook.

Select Brand, Product, or Organization > Choose Website. Type the Name of your Fan Page and agree to make it public. Now just hit the Create Button and your Fan page would be create.

Setelah Trik Paginasi , kali ini saya akan membahas mengenai bagaimana menampilkan Avatar (gambar profile) di bagian komentar. Penampilan avatar ini berada pada sebelah kiri text dari komentar dan berguna untuk Anda sebagai blogger lebih mengenal para pengunjung dengan tampilnya avatar mereka.

So gak berpanjang-panjang lagi , berikut ini adalah langkah-langkahnya :

1. Masuk ke Dashboard Anda, pilih Settings >Comments and enable "Show profile images on comment"
2. Pada template yang tidak dimodifikasi (umumnya template standar), setelah Anda mengubah setingan ini maka Avatar pun akan langsung muncul di sebelah komentar.

3. Tetapi buat Anda yang menggunakan template yang sudah termodifikasi , maka Anda harus sedikit memodifikasi agar Avatar muncul. Masuklah ke Layout >Edit HTML and backup lah dahulu template Anda.
4. Expand Widget Template, dan cek-lah apakah baris kode dibawah ini ada :

Merubah Nama Akun Paypal Yang Berbeda Dengan Nama Bank

Sekedar berbagi pengalaman lagi, sebenarnya kejadian ini sih sudah lama, berhubung lagi sempat nulis mungkin saja berguna kalau tulisan ini di tampilkan.

Berawal saat meregistrasikan akun ke Paypal, khususnya saat pengisian Nama, ketika itu gak sadar bahwa hal ini penting banget buat transaksi Paypal, khususnnya buat withdraw dana ke rekening lokal kita. Entah saat itu saya mengisi first Name , Middle Name dan Last Name-nya (dasar oon..hehee) apa, ternyata saat di dashboard paypal saya, nama yang tertera di sebelah kiri saya adalah Akhmad Kasman padahal nama lengkap saya adalah Akhmad Dharma Kasman (sesuai KTP).
Nah kejadian menyebalkannya terjadi saat pertama kali saya withdraw dana ke bank BCA, setelah deg-degan dalam penantian 3 hari apakah dana saya berhasil di withdraw, ternyata Withdraw saya malah ditolak lewat email dari pay pal yang isinya begini :

Setelah ditolak dana saya dikembalikan ke Paypal tapi kena potongan sebesar $5 ditambah biaya withdraw awal sebesar 16.000. Bukannya untung malah buntung..maklum penghasilan masih kecil..hehe

Setelah googling diblog tetangga ternyata alasan penolakan withdraw saya adalah pihak bank menolak withdraw karena ada perbedaan nama akun bank saya dan nama akun paypal, weleh-weleh saya baru menyadari kebodohan saya..hehe..Secara nalar tentunya saya langsung ingin mengedit dong nama saya di Paypal, dan ternyata di paypal khususnya jenis akun Personal tidak bisa mengganti nama yang sudah dibuat..(wah..wah)…Setelah googling juga saya akhirnya menemukan cara ini untuk merubah nama akun paypal :

1. Login Ke Paypal Anda.
2. Dibagian bawah ada menu “Contact US”
3. Lalu pada kotak isian Help Center Contact Information isikan saja ”Change Name” >> search.
4. Lalu pilih yang “How do I change the name on my Personal/Premier PayPal account? “
5. Lalu masuk ke ke bagian “Secure Form” .
6. Selanjutnya tinggal mengisi form perubahan nama sampai pada proses upload kartu identitas (KTP) anda.

Kalo sudah tinggal tunggu saja konfirmasi email dari Paypal, apakah perubahan nama Anda disetujui atau tidak.

Setelah ini akhirnya saya bisa melakukan Withdraw dengan lancar.. Alhamdulillah..

Yap , itulah sedikit pengalaman saya saat withdraw, semoga berguna. Buat yang belum atau baru pengen buat akun paypal, jangan lupa untuk membuat nama akun sesuai dengan kartu identitas Anda. Jangan sampai kebodohan ini terulang lagi oleh orang lain, hehehe…

Internetan Pake USB Modem Smart AC2726

Hari ini akhirnya kesampaian juga membeli modem Smart AC2726 yang sudah lama saya idam-idamkan. Gara-gara iklannya di televisi dan membaca bermacam-macam review diblog ataupun situs membuat saya mendambakan internet cepat di rumah.

Berbekal gaji yang sudah turun sebelum libur natal dan tahun baru ditambah sedikit penghasilan online saya , modem seharga 976 ribu perak (mahal..hiks) pun berhasil saya kantongi. Dengan gak sabar saya pun langsung mencolokkan modem tersebut ke notebook, modem ini langsung plug and play gak perlu seting sana seting sini , cukup mudah dalam pengoperasiannya. Colok dan langsung Konek.

Dari hasilnya sih cukup memuaskan, meskipun daerah rumah saya (Arteri pondok Indah) sebenarnya termasuk coverage daerah yang harusnya bisa mencapai download rate 3,1 mbps, Ternyata hanya mendapat kisaran 800 - 950 Kbps. Tetapi yang sedikit mengecawakan , adalah untuk jaringan internasionalnya, tidak seperti yang diiklankan di televisi, untuk streaming yotube tetap saja masih macet-macet. ..

Overall saya cukup puas akan produk ini, akhirnya saya punya juga internet yang cepat juga di rumah..hehe, semoga kecepatan seperti ini bisa terus dipertahankan. Jangan seperti provider lain (telkomshit), awal-awalnya saja yang bagus tetapi ketika sudah kebanyakan pelanggan koneksinya justru jeblok.

Sudah lebih dari 3 bulan saya mengikuti salah satu program Paid Review (reviewme). Awalnya sih, sekedar nyoba aja, kebetulan ada salah satu blog saya yang ber page rank 3 dan ber alexa rank dibawah 1 juta. Setelah di approve oleh program broker tersebut, bulan pertama saya hanya mendapatkan 1 job untuk mereview seharga 5$. ReviewMe (RM) adalah salah satu program PTR alias Paid To Review, PTR sendiri adalah sebuah program bisnis Internet dimana kita sebagai Blogger di wajibkan untuk menulis Review tentang produk / website sesuai dengan keinginan sang Advertiser (pengiklan). Sekedar sharing dari pengalaman saya saja mengikuti program Pay Per Click dan Pay Per Impression dari Adotic.com , ternyata setelah kurang lebih 7 bulan mengikuti program ini first payment tak kunjung datang ke rekening paypal saya.

Harusnya pembayaran pertama merujuk pada FAQ mereka adalah 3 bulan setelah earning mencapai $ 20, tapi sampai saat ini earning saya sudah mencapai $65 dan sudah lewat dari 5 bulan sejak mencapai batas earning, pembayaran pertama tidak kunjung-kunjung datang juga. Beberapa kali meng-email bagian support mereka pun tidak ada satu kali pun balasan.

Jadi saran saya buat para web dan blog publisher, jangan tergiur atas nilai pendapatan yang diberikan media advertising dari India ini. Karena di situsnya mereka menyebutkan untuk jenis iklan yang ditampilkan per 1000 page view adalah sebesar $0.15, hemmm cukup menggiurkan buat para web publisher yang memiliki blog dan web yang cukup ramai. Apa itu Software Engineering (SE)? Software Engineering atau yang didalam bahasa Indonesianya adalah Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak adalah aplikasi yang sistemastis, pendekatan yang kuantitatif dalam membagun Perangkat Lunak, operasi dan pemeliharaan perangkat lunak. Dan merupakan salah satu disiplin ilmu di ilmu komputer.

Istilah SE, pertama kali digunakan pada akhir tahun 1950-an dan sekitar awal 1960-an. Pada tahun 1968, NATO menyelenggarakan konferensi tentang software engineering di Jerman dan kemudian dilanjutkan pada tahun 1969. Meski penggunaan kata software engineering dalam konferensi tersebut menimbulkan debat tajam tentang aspek engineering dari pengembangan perangkat lunak, banyak pihak yang menganggap konferensi tersebutlah yang menjadi awal tumbuhnya profesi rekayasa perangkat lunak.
Tetapi, Apakah SE adalah sebuah profesi? Yap, Benar, Ini adalah nama sebuah pekerjaan. Tapi Apakah sama halnya dengan Seorang Akunting, Dokter atau Olahragawan sekalipun.

Suatu profesi adalah sesuatu hal yang Anda dibayar untuk melakukannya, diakui oleh masyarakat, memerlukan pengetahuan, memiliki kode etik, dan memiliki asosiasi anggota.

Profesi software Engineering di Indonesia mungkin sudah mulai cukup banyak , hal ini dikarenakan banyak bermunculan sekolah/universitas yang menggelar jurusan ilmu komputer. Tapi sejauh mana profesi SE ini berkembang diIndonesia? Jika dibandingkan Negara-negara maju seperti Amerika, Inggris atau bahkan negara India, mungkin kita masih tertinggal jauh dalam bidang SE ini. Produk Software mereka sudah begitu mendunia, sedangkan di Indonesia hanya sebatas lingkup kecil. Sebut saja Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe yang sudah begitu dipercaya dan mendunia, sedangkan diIndonesia yang saya amati, meski banyak bermunculan perusahaan-perusahaan software akan tetapi software itu hanya menangani kebutuhan unit-unit kecil khususnya untuk konsumsi dalam negeri.

Sebenarnya Software Engineer adalah sebuah profesi dan peluang baru di Indonesia. Berkaca dari Amerika, profesi sebagai Software Engineer mampu mengalahkan profesi profesor di sebuah universitas, finansial advisor dan human-resources manager dari sisi pendapatan. Jadi cukup membuat kita harus lebih cerdas lagi melihat profesi ini.

Lalu bagaimanakah Software Engineering dapat berkembang di negeri kita ini. Dibutuhkan kerja sama antar elemen-elemen bangsa ini, pemerintah , intstitusi/lembaga pendidikan sampai dengan masayarakat. Romisatria Wahono menyebutkan beberapa hal yang setidaknya dapat membantu dalam hal ini, yakni :

1. Memperbaiki kurikulum pendidikan jurusan computing, khususnya bidang Software Engineering termasuk untuk development technique, standard methodology, certification, management, dan entrepreneurship
2. Keterlibatan pemerintah diperlukan dalam membuat pipa antara software developer dan pasar, juga masalah kebijakan proteksi ke perusahaan software lokal
3. Mengarahkan SDM software engineer kita untuk memiliki keunggulan defacto (kreatifitas) dan keunggulan dejure (degree) sekaligus, dalam level sesuai dengan kemampuan yang bisa diraih
4. Membina para spesialis software engineer kita untuk menjadi seorang versatilist, karena Gartner Group memperkirakan dalam laporan khususnya bahwa dalam tahun 2010, pasar IT dunia akan dikuasai oleh para versatilist, yang menggerus 40% lapangan kerja spesialis
5. Manfaatkan Internet sebagai alat softmarketing, personal branding dan knowledge sharing.

Rilis Ubuntu 8.10 Beta

Sesuai dengan agenda rilis yang sudah dibuat, pada tanggal 2 Oktober 2008 sebuah rilis Beta dari Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex berhasil diluncurkan. Rilis ini biasa juga disebut sebagai pra rilis dan ditujukan untuk menguji lebih intensif berbagai aspek pada Ubuntu 8.10 sebelum akhirnya melakukan rilis akhir yang rencananya akan diluncurkan pada satu bulan mendatang yaitu pada tanggal 30 Oktober 2008.

Sebelumnya perlu diketahui karena rilis ini masih merupakan versi beta, maka jangan instal rilis ini untuk melakukan pekerjaan sehari-hari Anda. Silakan instal apabila Anda ingin turut serta menguji Ubuntu 8.10.

Fitur-fitur baru yang ada di Ubuntu 8.10 ini antara lain adalah GNOME 2.24, KDE 4.1.2, X.Org 7.4, Linux kernel 2.6.27, Encrypted private directory, Guest session, Network Manager 0.7, DKMS, Samba 3.2, PAM authentication framework, Totem BBC plugin dan masih banyak lagi.

Instal Java, MySQL dan JConnector di Ubuntu

Setelah muter muter di om google, akhirnya berhasil juga ngejalanin Java dengan koneksi MySQL di ubuntuku tercinta...Tulisan ini sekedar buat ngingetin gw, maklum sering lupa...Cara ini gw lakukan dengan koneksi internet (Klo gada, ya beli aja DVD Repositorynya,,banyak yang jual kok :-D )..

Install java :
- Buka terminal sebagai root :
- Lalu ketik perintah ini,
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-fonts sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin
- Tekan Enter.
- Finish, tinggal tunggu deh proses download dan instal Java ke kompi.

Install mysql client, server and the jdbc connector :

- Ketikin perintah ini di terminal
sudo apt-get install mysql-server
sudo apt-get install mysql-client
sudo apt-get install libmysql-java

Set password Default untuk User Root MySQL :

Set password user root di MySQL. Kata terkahir adalah sebagai passwordnya (silahkan ganti sesuai keinginan) :

mysqladmin -u root password root

Lalu Cek apakah bisa masuk sebagai user root MySQL :

mysql -u root -p

Coba Buat Database dan Tabel MySQL

create database dodol;

Menyetting JDBC sebagai koneksi MySQL+Java (Classpath untuk User) :

Edit file /home/[user]/.bashrc (disini gw buat Classpath untuk user root)
sudo vim /home/root/.bashrc

Tambahkan dua baris berikut ini :

CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/usr/share/java/mysql.jar
export CLASSPATH

Atau bisa menyetting classpath untuk seluruh user dengan mengedit file /etc/environment :

sudo vim /etc/environment

dah tambahkan 1 baris ini :

CLASSPATH=".:/usr/share/java/mysql.jar"

Setelah itu ketikkan perintah

echo $CLASSPATH

Kalo bener di terminal akan mengeluarkan output seperti ini :

":/usr/share/java/mysql.jar"

Selesai , sekarang buat coding java yang menghubungkan Java dan MysQL, nih codingnya :

Instalasi Wireless Broadcom BCM4310 Di Ubuntu

Secara default ubuntu tidak support wireless Broadcom BCM4310, termasuk versi 7.10 dan 8.04.. Nah disini ada sedikit utak atik untuk tipe wireless jenis ini.

pertama cek driver anda. perintahnya seperti dibawah ini

$lspci |grep Broad

lebih jelasnya lagi saya mengecek dengan perintah

selanjutnya kita akan melakukan instalasi wireless dengan menggunakan pelantara ndiswrapper

cabextract adalah file kabinet dari window$

kemudian download driver wireless

$unzip R174291-pruned.zip

setelah di mekarkan maka ada beberapa file yaitu

bcm43xx64.cat  bcmwl564.sys  bcmwl5.sys

setelah itu maka kita akam melakukan instalasi driver menggunakan ndiswrapper

$sudo ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
$ndiswrapper -l
$sudo depmod -a
$sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
$sudo cp /etc/network/interfaces /etc/network/interfaces.orig
$echo -e 'auto lo\niface lo inet loopback\n' | sudo tee /etc/network/interfaces
$sudo ndiswrapper -m
$echo 'ndiswrapper' | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
$echo 'ENABLED=0' | sudo tee -a /etc/default/wpasupplicant

setelah selesai di instal restart komputer anda dan nikmati wirelessnya.

setelah selesai instalasi saya maka lampu wirelessnya menyala. dan saya mengecek instalasi driver tadi dengan perintah

$ndiswrapper -l

Menyetting Telkom Flash Unlimited Di Ubuntu

Kalo di windows akan sangat mudah menyetting telkomsel flash, maka berikut ini adalah pengalaman saya menyeting flash di ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon dengan menggunakan modem HP Soner K530i ,Berikut ini langkahnya :

Pertama adalah tancapkan modem hp ke port usb, setelah itu masuk ke terminal dan ketikkan perintah

# dmesg

Modem akan terdeteksi sebagai ttyACM0 dan ttyACM1.

Langkah selanjutnya brarti tinggal bikin dial up dengan menggunakan modem ini.. Contek dulu init string nya di Windows, trus bikin deh konfigurasinya di Ubuntu:

# sudo vi /etc/wvdial.conf

Kemudian ketik konfigurasi dibawah ini deh:

[Dialer Defaults]

Modem = /dev/ttyACM0

Baud = 460800

Init1 = AT

Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0

Init3 = AT+CGDCONT=1, "IP", "internet"

Kalo sudah simpan deh filenya,lalu coba dial :

# wvdial

Lalu Coba Browsing untuk memastikan sudah konek atau belum .

Terkadang sudah dapat IP tp belum juga bisa browsing, solusinya adalah mematikan seluruh ethernet card yang aktif dengan perintah :

# sudo ifconfig eth0 down

dan seterusnya (eth1, eth2)

Kalo sudah coba dial dan browsing lagi.

Menjalankan Efek 3D Pada VGA yang di Blacklist Ubuntu (Intel 965)

Meskipun Intel 965 sudah langsung dikenali oleh ubuntu, akan tetapi efek 3D(compiz fuzion) ternyata tidak bisa jalan setelah disetting.

Karena Pada dasarnya Intel 965 termasuk VGA yang di blacklist oleh Ubuntu. Tapi jangan nyerah dulu karena kita bisa ngakalinnya dengan menyunting file compiz tersebut.

1. cari tahu vga intel versi anda dengan cara ketikkan berikut ini

dharma@dharma_linux:~$ lspci -v | grep VGA

2. jika masih vesa coba lakukan ini:

dharma@dharma_linux:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

3. kemudian sesuaikan dengan jenis VGA Anda, dalam hal ini Intel. Lalu lakukan penyuntingan terhadap berkas Compiz di /usr/bin/compiz
dharma@dharma_linux:~$ sudo nano /usr/bin/compiz

Berikan tanda # di depan baris yang di blacklist seperti di atas.
Kemudian simpan berkas hasil penyuntingan Anda. Cobalah untuk me-restart
ulang komputer Anda. Setelah itu dijamin Compiz Fusion akan aktif di ubuntu anda..Ini terbukti dengan laptop Lenovo saya yang menggunakan chipset vga intel 965. :-D

Mengembalikan Boot Loader Ubuntu

Trik yang akan dibahas dibawah ini hanya berlaku pada boot loader GRUB, bagi yang menggunakan boot loader LILO ditunggu ya artikel selanjutnya.

Para calon linuxer yang baru terjun ke dunia GNU/Linux, kebanyakan selama ini masih menggunakan dua operasi sistem yaitu Windows (alasannya masih terikat MOU pembajakan :p) dan sistem operasi GNU/Linux. GNU/Linux hanya dipake sebagai pembelajaran “hit and run” (istilah kerennya anak-anak DOSCOM) yang mana para calon pengantin (eh…. sorry calon linuxer :D) tersebut akan kembali ke default penggunaan sistem operasinya bilamana mengalami kebingungan dalam mengoperasikan GNU/Linux.

Terkadang yang paling membingungkan lagi pada saat mengistall ulang sistem operasi Windows yang sedang mengalami trouble, default boot loader GRUB yang ada secara otomatis tertimpa dengan boot loadernya Windows sehingga pada saat booting akan langsung masuk ke sistem operasi Windows.

Dengan kondisi seperti yang sudah dijelaskan diatas, kebanyakan para calon linuxer tersebut menjadi putus asa dan kepengen gantung diri (just kidding :D). Tanpa mau berpikir panjang lalu mengambil jalan pintas yaitu menginstall ulang juga sistem operasi GNU/Linuxnya. Padahal ada triknya loh untuk mengembalikan boot loader GRUB yang hilang tersebut.

Mari kita simak langkah-langkahnya:

• Bootinglah sistem komputer anda dengan menggunakan distro live cd GNU/Linux
(bisa Ubuntu, PcLinuxOS, Knoppix ataupun live cd GNU/Linux lainnya).
Tetapi dalam trik ini, penulis menggunakan distro Ubuntu.

• setelah masuk ke desktop ubuntu, buka aplikasi ”terminal” yang terdapat di
menu Applications > Accessories > Terminal

• Ketikkan perintah ”sudo su” (tanpa tanda petik)

• Kemudian ketik ”grub”

• Pada menu grub ketik ”root (hd0,1)” dan tekan enter.
Yang harus di perhatikan:
* Angka 1 sehabis parameter hd0, merupakan letak partisi ubuntu penulis.
maka dari itu, sebelumnya pastikan dulu dimana letak partisi GNU/Linux anda.
* Didalam boot loader GRUB umunnya angka partisi harddisk akan dikurangi 1
seperti: (hd0,1) yang mana hd0 merupakan pemetaan dari hda sebagai
harddisk primary.
sedangkan angka 1 diakhir hd0, adalah pemetaan dari partisi ke dua
yang sudah dikurangi 1.
Jadi apabila GNU/Linux anda diinstall pada partisi 5 maka akan
diidentifikasi GRUB sebagai partisi (hd0,4), dan ini berlaku untuk semua
partisi lainnya.

• Lalu masukkan perintah ”setup (hd0)” dimana secara otomatis akan mengistall
boot loader GRUB pada Master Boot Record.
• Kemudian ketik ”quit” lalu boot ulang PC anda dan lihat hasilnya.

Semoga artikel ini dapat membantu para calon linuxer yang mengalami masalah pada boot loader GRUBnya.

Masalah Ubuntu Ngeblank Setelah Boot

Untuk beberapa kasus monitor tertentu , terjadi kesalahan konfigurasi xserver pada Ubuntu, sehingga mengakibatkan monitor gak menampilkan apa-apa (sebenarnya c komputer berjalan normal), dikarenakan Ubuntu akan memaksa monitor bekerja pada resolusi 1024×768, padahal monitor gak kuat

Untuk mengatasi hal ini, dapat masuk ke sistem recovery mode (teks mode) melalui pilihan boot loader. Caranya pada modus recovery mode cukup dengan mengedit file : sudo vim /etc/X11/xorg.conf , kemudian hilangkan mode 1024×768 pada bagian seperti dibawah ini;
